Snowball

Snowball was adopted by Kathleen and family on 4-3-13. Snowbill fit in with the whole family from the beginning. Snow and Kathleen's other cat, Nola, are starting to become friends and will now sleep in Kathleen's lap at the same time. Snow is being more careful with the dogs, although she will wait for the dogs to jump down off the couches when someone comes to the door to ambush them, ha, ha, in a playful way. Snowball has learned to hit the little bells on the door, Kathleen thinks, to let you know she wants something. One funny thing is that Nola has a little toy cow, whose name is "Cow." Nola hid Cow almost from the minute that Snowball came into the house. I guess she didn't want to share it with Snowball. Well, they just discovered Cow again a few days ago. This is a good sign that Nola is beginning to trust Snowball. I know they'll be fast friends soon. Kathleen says Snowball is smart, loving and has been such a joy. Thanks, Kathleen, for giving Snowball a wonderful, spoiled life! She was just a little stray living outside a few months ago.

Smoky
Smoky

Smokey was adopted by John and Marlis on 3-5-13. Smokey adjusted well from the beginning, but their Russian Blue, Mika, and Smokey took just a little while to get together. Now they are sleeping together, playing together and even eating together. They also like to explore the long screened-in porch together. As I was talking to John, Smokey was in Marlis' lap. Smokey has also become good friends with their Giant Schnauzer, Mattie. They lay nose to nose to each other. And Mattie also knows she's much bigger and is very gentle with Smokey. They say Smokey is a big old baby and they feel lucky to have him. Thanks, Marlis and John, for giving Smokey such a wonderful, loving home!

Sir Hugs a Lot and Guinnevere

Sir and Guinny were adopted by a lovely lady, Patsy, on 10-20-12. Sir and Guinny came from a shelter and had some real problems from day one. Actually, if I had discovered they had a food allergy from the beginning, it would have cut out a lot of problems. I had them on all sorts of medicine because of their digestive problems and some other problems they had. But the minute the person that brought them to me that had picked them up handed them to me, they were just little purr babies and became two of the most special kittens in the world. I could go on and on, but they are both so sweet and loving, and Mr. Sir is a retriever cat. He has OCD about retrieving plastic spoons! He wants you to throw them over and over and over so that he can bring them back to you and throw them again. These were two very special kitties to me, and I knew it would be hard to give them up and find someone trustworthy to take these babies. I had had them longer than most kittens because of their early problems and was very attached. Well, I had a flyer up at my favorite vet's office, and Patsy uses my vet and was interested in adopting them, even though their special food is quite expensive. And everybody at the vet sang Patsy's praises. I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful cat mom in Patsy. Here's what Patsy has to say about Sir and Guinny: "I lost my cat (child), Henry, that I had for all of his 14 years to cancer in September of this year. I was pretty down about it and did not think I would get another cat for a long time. When I was at the vet's office, Memorial Cat Hospital (they are the best), to donate some of Henry's things, I saw a picture and story posted about Guinny (originally Guinnevere) and Sir (originally Sir Hugs a Lot) at their front desk. I got with Mary Kay Hendricks, their foster mom, with Cats for Life and found out that they were up for adoption at Petco on Mason Road. They had been there for four weeks and had not been adopted. I went there to meet and play with them for a little while and thought they were a very cute 'sister and brother act.'" "Long story short, I adopted the cuties. They are so much fun! I do not feel guilty leaving them to go to work because they can entertain each other during the day. They love to snuggle and play together! I am so glad I adopted them both! Even though they have food allergies and I have to feed them a special diet, I am glad to have them and be able to take care of them. So if a kitten or cat is not perfect, they can still be a great source of love and companionship. They just take a little more attention. It is because of Cats for Life and Mary Kay that I have my special little kitties and I am very thankful!" Thank you, Patsy, for adopting these babies and making me feel perfectly relaxed and happy about who I adopted them to. I know they will be well taken care of.

Samantha

Samantha was adopted by Taanya and family on 2-13-12. They are all really crazy about Samantha and she's doing great. She likes to play fetch with Taanya's boys. When the boys aren't there and Taanya's alarm goes off, Samantha comes to make sure that Taanya gets up. Thanks so much for giving Samantha such a wonderful home!

Snuggle Bunny
Snuggle Bunny

Steve and Valerie adopted three kitties from us! They adopted Vincenzo (The General), Snuggle Bunny (Cookie) and Zoe (Hermione). This is what they have to say about their individual new babies!! "They are darlings and I'm so glad they are part of our lives now. Cookie Snuggle Bunny has stolen all of our hearts with her quick-to-ignite purr. She is such a character, and speaking of playing, you have never seen such a fierce competitor! She has bitten through all kinds of elastic string on cat play toys in record time and she loves to "drown" her toy in the big water bowl in the kitchen. One of us will take it out, shake it off and dry it and next thing you know she has found it, played with it and sunk it in the water bowl again! She loves to play with The General and is very fond of grooming him and he exchanges the favor, making sure she has very clean ears. :) She goes crazy on the carpet/sisal rope cat "tree" and really is better entertainment than some TV shows I'm sure! Holly and Donovan are thrilled that Cookie Snuggle Bunny and the General sleep in their room, cuddled up on their beds.We are so lucky to have these darlings. Thank goodness we adopted them. We know we've helped them out, which feels good, but they have added much richness to our lives and have given each of us something to be happy about every day." So happy for Cookie!! Thanks for giving her such an incredible, incredible home!
