My name is Haylon, and I am looking for my very own “furever” home. I am a special needs kitty. Let me tell you my sad story, but, please believe me that I am no longer sad. I am the most grateful, sweet, adorable, happy, full of life kitty ever…..and such fun! I'm still kitten-like and really enjoy playing with toys. I run to the door to greet my foster mom and follow her around like a little doggy. I am a great lap warmer and give head butts…..an attention hog is what I am!
I was found by one of the dog feeders for Forgotten Dogs of the Fifth Ward in Houston, TX. The feeder saw me sitting all alone, forlorn, with huge hair loss, bleeding skin, skinny and emaciated. She knew that I had only a few days to live so she immediately grabbed me up and took me to the vet. The vet said I had ringworm...the worst case he had ever seen….and a horrible bacterial skin infection. I went to the vet for months to have lyme-sulphur dips, had to take antibiotics and pills for ringworm, and, had anti-fungal topical meds applied to my raw and bleeding skin. I was so happy to be alive that I did not mind all the vet visits and meds put down my throat. The very bottom picture is of me before my wonderful foster mom started treating me. She is my angel. I have overcome all my skin issues, but, am FIV positive. FIV is not a death sentence and I can live a very long healthy life.
I absolutely adore my people….don't get me wrong, I like kitties, too, and I have no problems with foster mom’s 27-lb. rescue doggy. My foster mom thinks I am precious and absolutely adores me! And, am I ever a purr machine! If you are looking for devotion, affection, love, sweetness and little kitty antics, then I am the special boy for you!
I was born approximately April 4, 2011 and have been neutered, tested negative for FELV, received Rabies, FVRCP and FELV vaccinations, de wormed, and deflead.
