Bruce

Bruce was adopted by Julie and Keith and their two sons, ages four and six, on 12-6-09, along with Shamaine, now Belle. Bruce is actually between eight and nine years old, but is a very active and fearless kitty and loves playing wth the boys. Bruce can access the liquor cabinet if a certain drawer is open, and he loves hanging out there! We certainly didn't know that Bruce was such a lush! Julie says that Bruce is into everything! Julie and Keith's boys are also very active, and Bruce is the perfect match. He is a lap cat. If Belle is already in Julie's lap, he will just look at her as if: Well, I'll just go find another lap to sit in. After all, there are four people here. Bruce and Belle are fast friends also and love to play hide and seek with each other and with little mice. Oh, Bruce, you just found the perfect home!

Bingo

Bingo (picture not available) was just another lonely stray cat till an elderly woman, Helen, found him outside her home and took him in until Mary Kay, who helps Helen with her cats, could find him a home. Now Bingo is in heaven at his new home with Janetta and Travis. Janetta and Travis are from Minnesota and came to Houston for a while where jobs are a little more plentiful. They just moved in to a house and decided they wanted a cat companion. They went to Katy Petco and saw Bingo and adopted him. Janetta said Bingo lets them know all the time that, hey, I'm here! He loves to cuddle with them, and when Janetta gets home from taking Travis to work, it's more cuddle time for Bingo and Janetta. Travis says they are very lucky to have Bingo. Bingo is very lucky to have Travis and Janetta. So happy for Bingo, who could have ended up being just another statistic in the kitty world.

Brianna (Feather)

Brianna (now Feather) was adopted into probably one of the most incredible homes in the whole City of Houston. John and Dana adopted her in April of 2008 before Cats for Life had a website. John and Dana absolutely ADORE Feather, along with their other wonderful kitty, Frenchie, who they had had for a little while before Feather. Feather and Frenchie are fast friends now. Dana and John take really good care of their kitties, and they even have taken them on trips with them! Mary Kay stays in touch with Dana and went to Dana and John's house around April or May of 2009 just to visit. Mary Kay would love to have a couple of days just to go visit all of the kitties she has adopted out to such wonderful homes. Feather says she really LOVES living with Dana and John and getting all that individual attention she was not able to get at Mary Kay's. Such a happy ending!

Barbie

Here's what Barbie's adopter, Meredyth, has to say about Barbie. "Barbie, now Belle, was adopted by Meredyth, Stephan and their two children, Brianna, 13, and Nolan, 10. They are all huge animal lovers, but since they had a large rescue dog, a rescue cat and a rat, they weren't looking to adopt again...... that was until they saw Barbie. The minute they sat down with Barbie, their hearts were gone. They knew she had to come home with them, and she did. She was timid at first, taken to hiding under the furniture but with loving kindness, the help of Mary Kay with Cats for Life and a little patience, she learned to trust us and finally joined the family. She now sits proudly and happily in the living room right next to her new friend, the Golden Retriever Junie, and Tarzan, her new cat brother. She is THE most sweet and affectionate cat. We couldn't live without her. She makes us all laugh daily as she runs after her little toy mice. She's something to see! A wonderfuly, wonderful kitty!

Butch

Little Butch, now Buchee, was the luckiest little kitty in the world when he was adopted on 4-4-09 by Nicole and Tim and children. Buchee fit in right away, and he is crazy about the family, and they are crazy about Buchee. Buchee runs downstairs every time to meet any of the family when they are coming in the front door. He is a little prince who loves sleeping in between Tim and Nicole. He loves to be fair in dividing his time between Tim and Nicole because he knows they love him so. All of Tim and Nicole's friends are aware of the new addition to their family. Tim and Nicole are just smitten, and Buchee is smitten with them. What an incredibly happy ending for all concerned!
