Zoe
Steve and Valerie adopted three of our kitties! Here is the individual story of each kitty they adopted!
"They are darlings and I'm so glad they are part of our lives now. Zoe we renamed Hermione from the Harry Potter book series. We're all big fans and in the second book she turns into a cat at one point so in our family naming contest Donovan's suggestion won out. While as of yet she doesn't seem to be a big cat fan but is rather more fond of humans, she is warming up to her feline family and we think those relationships will blossom, given a little more time. August 28th wasn't all that long ago and she was in a bathroom by herself for a few days at first as she got used to things. She is such a beautiful, sweet thing. She likes nothing better than to sit on top of the printer while anyone works on the family computer. In fact, she is sitting by me now. :) You see that Maine Coone cat affinity for water, when it is my youngest daughter's bathtime. She shows up and has been known to hop right up on the edge of the tub, fascinated! She loves to be petted and sleeps nestled on top of or next to my oldest daughter every night. One of her favorite pasttimes is looking out the windows and it appears to her to be an even better location if the drape is partially drawn and she has some more privacy. You still see the young kitten in her when it is play time, because she really gets into it.
We are so lucky to have these darlings. Thank goodness we adopted them. We know we've helped them out, which feels good, but they have added much richness to our lives and have given each of us something to be happy about every day."
Thanks so much, Valerie and Steve!
Venus
Venus was adopted on 8-28-11 by Melissa and husband and their two kids. Venus was not shy from the beginning at all. She made herself at home. Venus sleeps in bed with Melissa and daughter Hope and crawls in between them. Venus has toys out everywhere and loves her scratching post. Melissa says Venus wants attention all the time and is particularly attached to Hope. Venus also faithfully uses her litter box. They are so attached to her and love her very much. Thanks so much to Melissa and family for giving Venus such a loving home!
Cody
Little Cody was adopted by Tony and daughter Nikki on 8-10-11. Cody wasn't scared very long and then began having a lot of fun. He follows Nikki around the house, and he has a special toy that they bought him that he carries around in his mouth a lot. Cody is very sweet and playful. He is also best friends now with their other kitty, Oreo, and they love to sleep together and always make room for each other. They just got Cody and Oreo a fantastic cat tree that a friend made for them!
I'm so happy for Cody. He was born to some kitties in the back yard of an elderly woman's house, and he could have been homeless. He has loving people in Tony and Nikki and a best friend in Oreo! Thanks, Tony and Nikki!
Angie
Angie was adopted by Cynthia on 6-12-11. She pretty much started making herself at home from the start. Cynthia's other cats are taking a little while to warm up to her, but it's much better. Angie's name is now Zuzu, named after the little girl in "It's A Wonderful Life." Cynthia says Zuzu is very sweet and affectionate, very much a lap cat and sleeps with Cynthia along with Frosty, the 15-lb cat. Something strange happened a few days after Cynthia adopted Zuzu. Cynthia felt a lump on Zuzu's hip and it scared her. She took Zuzu to the vet, and the vet discovered a BB inside her. Luckily it was not deep into the skin, and the vet was able to get the BB out with some local anesthetic. I'm so glad Zuzu has someone who loves her enough to discover that and take her to the vet. I'm sure Zuzu is much more comfortable now. Cynthia will send a picture in the next few days, as Zuzu was not on the website and I didn't have a picture. Thanks, Cynthia, for giving Zuzu such a wonderful, loving home!!
Adrian
Adrian (now Bear) was adopted by Julie and Robert on 5-29-11. Little Bear was being fed by an elderly woman in a bad area because his owners just moved off and left him and he wanted so much attention. Well, he is certainly getting it now! Julie says Bear just "flops" down, like I cannot go any further without getting attention or petting. It's like: You must stop and pet me. She says he's a drama queen in that respect. Bear is playing a lot with their 14-year-old cat. He pretty much got along with the other cats from the beginning, and he doesn't mind the dog either. Their three-year-old cat was a little offended at first because he was "the baby," but I'm sure Bear will win him over. Bear and the 14-year-old also lay in cat beds together. Bear loves to play. Julie says he has the loudest purr and is a head butter. He sleeps right next to Julie at night. Bear is one lucky kitty cat! Thanks, Julie and Robert, for making Bear so happy!
