Jennifer
Jennifer

I was a little worried about getting sweet little Jennifer adopted because although she's a very sweet and loving cat, she had an intense fear of being picked up, and I was afraid that might put somebody off. Carol adopted Jennifer on 8-22-10. Carol had talked a year before about adopting Jennifer, but she had to do some remodeling due to the hurricane and time went by and it just didn't happen. Right at about a year later, she was at Copperfield Petco and saw Jennifer. She saw her just hours after I put Jennifer in the condo. She knew immediately it was meant to be. Jennifer is really opening up to Carol and will lie with her while watching TV. Jennifer will even roll on her back for Carol. I'm thrilled about this. Carol says Jennifer will go to sleep with her, but she doesn't know exactly how long she stays because she hears Jennifer playing and having the time of her life in a house all to herself and no kitties to have to share it with. Carol says in the mornings she finds pillows overturned and evidence that Jennifer has been playing like crazy. Carol says that sometimes Jennifer runs so fast and plays so hard that she kind of crashes into walls (hilarious!!) Carol said such a wonderful statement to me. She said she wants Jennifer to look at her, look at her house and feel completely comfortable. She wants Jennifer to know that she'll have a long and happy life in the house with Carol. I can't think of anything more wonderful that a foster mom would want to hear for their former kitty. Thanks, Carol, for giving Jennifer such a wonderful home!

Jack
Jack

I love this story especially because I was afraid Jack and his sisters Janet and Chrissy would never be adoptable. They were kind of semi-feral kitties and I worked SO HARD to tame them, but they didn't want anything to do with me, only each other and their mom, Juanita. Well, through time Jack got better and was adopted by Johnnye and Robert on 7-11-10. He had been in the condo at Katy Petco with his mom, and Jack was a very active kitty up there. Well, Jack has just adjusted SO well. Jack is still a very active kitty. His adopters and I wonder if he wasn't slipped some "happy drugs" because he kind of doesn't stop moving. He loves to play! He has become the ultimate lap cat also. They have bought Jack a laser pointer and he loves that! He has also become friends with their 15-year-old kitty Pita. Robert and Johnnye described Jack to me as "endless entertainment, even better than we hoped." Well, I'm a proud foster mom, and my heart is just beaming at this description. Jack has the perfect home, and I'm so happy for all concerned!

Jellybean
Jellybean

Jellybean (now Ben) was adopted by Melissa on 4-3-10. Ben was fostered by Cindy for quite a while, and Cindy was so sad to see him go but knew he had a much better home with Melissa because the other cats at Cindy's house would pick on Ben. Ben loves to go through Melissa's house and explore, especially since there's no other cat waiting to surprise him. Ben loves to follow Melissa around like a dog, and Ben sleeps with Melissa every night, and she said she couldn't ask for a better cat. Her friends are also crazy about Ben! This is what all of us rescuers want, a loving home and better home than we can give because we have so many and they can't get so much attention from us. Yay for Ben!

Jenny

Jenny (now Susie Q) was adopted by Penny and her husband on 1-5-10. They had a Cornish Rex named Sweetie who really missed the two other cats that she lived with when they had to be put down because of serious illnesses. Sweetie was crying and needed a friend. Penny said it has worked out perfectly. Sweetie and Susie Q play and then go their separate ways. They both sleep on heated beds provided by their wonderful cat parents. Susie Q is doing lots of exploring in a three-story house, especially the second and third floor. She's playing with all the wonderful toys they got her. She's also a very tactile cat, meaning that she puts her paws on Penny and her husband's foreheads but does not put her claws out. We're so, so happy for Susie Q. What a perfect home and match made in heaven!

Jade
Jade

Jade was the first Cats for Life cat adopted by Adrian, one of Cats for Life's volunteers and a great cat owner. Jade doesn't really care much for other kitties, but she and Sean (second CFL cat adopted by Adrian) are co-existing just fine. Jade is very affectionate and loves to sleep with Adrian. Poor little Jade lived outside for a whole year before being taken in, and the poor baby was declawed also. Mary Kay constantly worried about Jade until she had room for her. We don't know if Jade became accidentally separated from her owners or if they dumped her, so often a sad story that happens way too often. Jade is so lucky to have Adrian!
