Mila
Mila

Mila (now Maru) was adopted by Rosana and Norman in January of 2011. They are first-time kitty cat owners, and here's what they have to say: "Actually 'we' are in heaven since we got Maru. She is the sweetest, lovely and polite kitty of the world. Everybody here is loving her!! I hope she is enjoying staying here also. We chose a pretty name, Maru. There is a Japanese famous cat in Youtube called Maru also. She is so pretty, just like our Maru (probably not. Our Maru is better!!)" Cindy (Maru's foster and fellow Cats for Life board member) and I are so happy for Maru. Maru didn't especially like being around multiple cats, and she found the perfect home, as you can see from her very happy and relaxed picture! Thanks Rosana and Norman!

Missy
Missy

Missy (formerly Rachel) was adopted by Linda and John on 11-9-07, before Cats for Life was formed, but Mary Kay fostered her through another organization. Mary Kay wants to tell the tale because Linda and Mary Kay keep in touch occasionally, and Linda comes to visit Mary Kay and the cats at Copperfield Petco occasionally. Missy was up for adoption at the Copperfield Petsmart in the adoption center, and Linda and John fell in love and couldn't stand to see Missy have to stay in the cage in the adoption center. So they adopted her and took her home. Well, at first Missy did not care for Romeo, John and Linda's other cat. Romeo wanted to play with Missy, but Missy wasn't having much of that. I think Missy just kind of wanted to be on her own with her people after living on the streets with Oscar and Felix, her two kittens, who got adopted. Now Missy and Romeo coexist very well, and John and Linda are crazy about both kitties. Missy is so lucky she was adopted by a couple who love her so much and spoil her. We all love to hear such happy endings for these babies that lived on the streets and such horrible things could have happened to them!

Missy
Missy

Missy was adopted by Ron and Lynn from Dallas. They spoke with Cindy (Missy's foster) and I several times. I met Ron and Lynn in Huntsville on Saturday, 8-14-10, and a kind woman who boards animals let Ron and Lynn visit with Missy for the first time at her house. Ron and Lynn were so tired from their several-hour-long trip when they got back that they decided to take a nap. They had company when they went to sleep, namely Missy. Now Missy sleeps with them every night. You see, Missy did not care for the many cats at her foster mom's house and would never sleep with her foster mom because she did not want to compete with the other cats. Now Missy's in heaven having her loved ones to sleep with every night. Missy loves to sleep on Ron's chest also. Ron says Missy likes to be touching one of them at all times, with a paw, whatever. Missy is a very affectionate cat and is very confident and her own person also. Ron also says that Missy is quicker than any other biological unit he has ever seen. Ron and Lynn love her so much, and we're so glad that Missy found her perfect home. Missy loves dogs, not cats, and in the future Lynn and Ron may consider getting a dog. Missy likes that idea. No cats though.

Mr. Cutie Patootie
Mr. Cutie Patootie

Here's what Heather wrote about Mr. Cutie Patootie, now Mack. "Mack, formerly known as 'Mr. Cutie Patootie,' is adjusting to life in his new home as just one of the boys. He was adopted by Heather, a single mom with two young boys, in July, 2010. While he is making himself right at home, he is still getting used to living with two rowdy little boys. He is definitely mommy's kitty cat and follows her everywhere. He loves sleeping in her bed, and one of his favorite spots is laying on the keyboard as she works on the computer!" So glad Mack found the perfect home where he gets a lot more attention than he really wanted at his foster mom's house where there were just too many kitties.

Manny & Diego

Diego was adopted by Connie and Joel from Katy Petco at the end of June, and then they decided to also adopt Diego's buddy, Manny, who was in the condo with Diego. Diego came a week before Manny and was doing wonderfully. Diego is a little shyer than Manny but is a real lover and loves to be loved. Their seven and ten-year-old girls love the cats and the cats love the girls. The kitties sleep wherever they want. Connie says Manny will just plop anywhere on the floor and Diego likes to sleep on the dining room chair. We're so happy these little buddy cats got adopted together and into such a wonderful, loving home.
