Maddie
Maddie was adopted by Debbie and David and family on 12-7-12. Maddie was pretty scared at first and was scared of Maggie, the dog, but now she is one of the family. They say she is the coolest, greatest cat ever! Debby says she purrs a lot and has a loud motor. Daughter Emma especially loves to carry Maddie around a lot and Maddie really likes it. She also lays in bed with the whole family when they've got a special show to watch. Maddie loves the laser light and feather toy. They said they could not have found a better cat! Thanks so much to Debby and David and family for giving Maddie such a loving home!
Sir Hugs a Lot and Guinnevere
Sir and Guinny were adopted by a lovely lady, Patsy, on 10-20-12. Sir and Guinny came from a shelter and had some real problems from day one. Actually, if I had discovered they had a food allergy from the beginning, it would have cut out a lot of problems. I had them on all sorts of medicine because of their digestive problems and some other problems they had. But the minute the person that brought them to me that had picked them up handed them to me, they were just little purr babies and became two of the most special kittens in the world. I could go on and on, but they are both so sweet and loving, and Mr. Sir is a retriever cat. He has OCD about retrieving plastic spoons! He wants you to throw them over and over and over so that he can bring them back to you and throw them again. These were two very special kitties to me, and I knew it would be hard to give them up and find someone trustworthy to take these babies. I had had them longer than most kittens because of their early problems and was very attached.
Well, I had a flyer up at my favorite vet's office, and Patsy uses my vet and was interested in adopting them, even though their special food is quite expensive. And everybody at the vet sang Patsy's praises. I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful cat mom in Patsy. Here's what Patsy has to say about Sir and Guinny:
"I lost my cat (child), Henry, that I had for all of his 14 years to cancer in September of this year. I was pretty down about it and did not think I would get another cat for a long time. When I was at the vet's office, Memorial Cat Hospital (they are the best), to donate some of Henry's things, I saw a picture and story posted about Guinny (originally Guinnevere) and Sir (originally Sir Hugs a Lot) at their front desk. I got with Mary Kay Hendricks, their foster mom, with Cats for Life and found out that they were up for adoption at Petco on Mason Road. They had been there for four weeks and had not been adopted. I went there to meet and play with them for a little while and thought they were a very cute 'sister and brother act.'"
"Long story short, I adopted the cuties. They are so much fun! I do not feel guilty leaving them to go to work because they can entertain each other during the day. They love to snuggle and play together! I am so glad I adopted them both! Even though they have food allergies and I have to feed them a special diet, I am glad to have them and be able to take care of them.
So if a kitten or cat is not perfect, they can still be a great source of love and companionship. They just take a little more attention. It is because of Cats for Life and Mary Kay that I have my special little kitties and I am very thankful!"
Thank you, Patsy, for adopting these babies and making me feel perfectly relaxed and happy about who I adopted them to. I know they will be well taken care of.
T.K.
T.K. was adopted by Lindsay and Trevor on 10-13-12. Lindsay and Trevor were so excited to meet T.K., they drove 45 minutes each way to visit him. They could tell right away that he would be a perfect addition to their home. T.K. was shy at first, but soon met the other cat Zoe. Their first bonding moment was when the window was up to let in some fresh, fall air. The cats sat side by side on the window ledge, watching the birds. After this, they quickly became friends and now have an early morning routine of chasing each other and wrestling. When they're not exploring the house together and having adventures, they snuggle up on a cat bed together and nap. T.K. is a sweetie and loves snuggling on Lindsay or Trevor's laps, and rolling over to have his tummy petted. He enjoys playing with the flying feather toy, the laser pointer, and anything that he can chase. T.K. is the perfect cat companion; Lindsay and Trevor feel so lucky to have him!
Raj
Raj (now Kitkat) was adopted by Lynn and family on 9-4-05. They think he's really awesome. They adopted him mainly for daughter Maggie, but now Lynn is his favorite. He sleeps with Lynn and occasionally with Maggie. He's a lap kitty when he wants to be and likes to hang with the family. He gets along with the dogs and plays with them a little bit. Quote from Lynn, "I love that cat." Thanks so much for giving Kitkat a wonderful home!
Abraham and Lincoln
Abraham and Lincoln were adopted by Lucy, husband, son and daughter Daisy on
7-7-12. They were a little scared at first, but then they began eating well and exploring. They lover all their little toys, the glitter ball, the plastic balls with bells in them and their feather toy. Lucy and family had not had pets as adults, and she was surprised to find out the kitties were so clean, and I'm sure she's happy about that. They love to sit on their son's laptop computer. Lucy says they eat next to them at their own little table. They do like to sit in everybody's laps and they purr a whole lot, especially when they want to be held.
Thanks, Lucy, and everybody for giving these formerly homeless kittens such a wonderful home. I'm sure they're so grateful!
