Sir Hugs a Lot and Guinnevere

Sir and Guinny were adopted by a lovely lady, Patsy, on 10-20-12. Sir and Guinny came from a shelter and had some real problems from day one. Actually, if I had discovered they had a food allergy from the beginning, it would have cut out a lot of problems. I had them on all sorts of medicine because of their digestive problems and some other problems they had. But the minute the person that brought them to me that had picked them up handed them to me, they were just little purr babies and became two of the most special kittens in the world. I could go on and on, but they are both so sweet and loving, and Mr. Sir is a retriever cat. He has OCD about retrieving plastic spoons! He wants you to throw them over and over and over so that he can bring them back to you and throw them again. These were two very special kitties to me, and I knew it would be hard to give them up and find someone trustworthy to take these babies. I had had them longer than most kittens because of their early problems and was very attached. Well, I had a flyer up at my favorite vet's office, and Patsy uses my vet and was interested in adopting them, even though their special food is quite expensive. And everybody at the vet sang Patsy's praises. I feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful cat mom in Patsy. Here's what Patsy has to say about Sir and Guinny: "I lost my cat (child), Henry, that I had for all of his 14 years to cancer in September of this year. I was pretty down about it and did not think I would get another cat for a long time. When I was at the vet's office, Memorial Cat Hospital (they are the best), to donate some of Henry's things, I saw a picture and story posted about Guinny (originally Guinnevere) and Sir (originally Sir Hugs a Lot) at their front desk. I got with Mary Kay Hendricks, their foster mom, with Cats for Life and found out that they were up for adoption at Petco on Mason Road. They had been there for four weeks and had not been adopted. I went there to meet and play with them for a little while and thought they were a very cute 'sister and brother act.'" "Long story short, I adopted the cuties. They are so much fun! I do not feel guilty leaving them to go to work because they can entertain each other during the day. They love to snuggle and play together! I am so glad I adopted them both! Even though they have food allergies and I have to feed them a special diet, I am glad to have them and be able to take care of them. So if a kitten or cat is not perfect, they can still be a great source of love and companionship. They just take a little more attention. It is because of Cats for Life and Mary Kay that I have my special little kitties and I am very thankful!" Thank you, Patsy, for adopting these babies and making me feel perfectly relaxed and happy about who I adopted them to. I know they will be well taken care of.
