Emily
Emily

I have had such incredible and wonderful adopters. Please do not be offended all of my wonderful adopters when I say that Emily is my most successful adoption story. Emily was found as a three-pound adult with a dog bite and bad infection. I nursed her back to health and she was a pretty jolly cat when first at my house, but then she became very intimidated and unhappy with a multi-cat household. Emily never did well at adoptions. She was moody and scared of the cats around her. It basically became useless to take her to adoptions. If a cat can't go to adoptions, it lowers their chances of being adopted by about 99 percent. Unfortunately, just about the only cats that get adopted from the website are kittens. I pretty much knew Emily would never get adopted. I had her for 3-1/2 years. She is a wonderful cat if she is not around multi, multi cats. Jennifer, Emily's adopter, had to put her 18-1/2-year-old cat down. She was going to wait to get another cat, but her sister saw Emily on my website, and Emily looked a lot like Jennifer's cat PJ, only PJ had long hair. Someone came to look at Emily about a year ago at my house, but she became frightened and acted like a really wild cat. I prepared Emily before Jennifer came over, and Emily actually did quite well. I took Emily to sweet Jennifer's house Monday night, October 12th. Emily is actually doing quite well nine days later. Emily and Jennifer are a match made in heaven, and Jennifer's home is a dream home for a kitty that was going to be sentenced to living at my house, stressed by my other cats, and wanting to and never being able to sleep in the bed with me because she wouldn't stand up to the other cats. Emily has her own person and her own bed every night now and is taking advantage of it. This is what dreams are made of for a cat rescuer. There are many other cats at my house just like Emily who do not show well at adoptions. People don't believe you when you say, "They're really very wonderful at home, just shy, and especially very shy at adoptions." They just don't believe you, even though I know EVERYTHING about the cats' personalities. I hope these wonderful cats will have a chance one day through a miracle (since they don't go to adoptions) like Jennifer. Thanks, Jennifer! You really did save a life!
